The beginning
In August of 2016 two managers working for international pharma companies in Ukraine became curious of how many local Ukrainian companies were providing Site Management and Monitoring services in the country. The result of the investigation was such that a new company – CTX4 – was conceived.
People around also became curious and enthusiastic. When asked to join many were willing to try and make this business work in a new better way.
Marcus Buckingham in his book “First Break all the Rules” wrote: «People join companies but leave managers.» And this ever-lasting question of «Why?» has been bothering us for some time. In many cases the chain of events seemed inevitable. And, like Simon Sinek of "Start With Why" , Brian J. Robertson of "Holacracy" , Jeffrey V. Sutherland and Ken Schwaber of "Scrum" , Kerry Patterson of "Crucial Confrontations" and many others, we felf that something was wrong with the current organizational structure and/or people in the system. That feeling of dissatisfaction, a "gap" between where we are and where we might be, made us believe that we could do better if we would have the chance. And we made the "leap of faith" – the CTX4 company was started.
As discovering opportunities drives most businesses, so CTX4 was the fruit of endeavor to grasp opportunities that opened in front of us:
- increasing number of small and mid-sized biotech/pharma companies with a need to get clinical data;
- unsatisfied needs of mid-sized international CROs looking for local vendors and sub-contractors in Eastern Europe;
- new approaches to monitoring suggested possible outsourcing for remote data verification and data managment.
- relatively small competition in the segment of small CROs and SMMs in Ukraine
We are currently looking for sponsors eager to become our first clients. For our first clients we are willing to make every effort imaginable (and unimaginable ;-) to meet expectations and be comfortable to work with. It's hard to start a business in this overall crowded market, but our intentions are viable and we feel that we're prepared to be on par with large CROs, at least in services they provide locally in Ukraine.
The major milestones of the company’s development are listed in the table below.
